Part 2: E's Attire!

For those of you who know me, know that I took a lot of time and energy deciding what Ms. Evan Lilly would wear for her party. I went back and forth on a couple custom made dresses and finally settled on this one! I bought it from a seller on Etsy and she was great to work with. I even sent it back for a couple alterations and she didn't charge any additional costs or shipping.

I also bought her tights from a seller on Etsy and I am obsessed with them. I am seriously thinking about messaging her to see if she will do some in other colors and and maybe even some capris.

I LOVE Sweet Honey and this shirt almost didn't happen! If you are not familiar with company, they make adorable little girls clothes. However, they are a small family company and do not make a ton of every piece so getting an item is hard to come by. When items are posted they sell out in seconds! Seconds! I'm not kidding. I tried to get this shirt twice and it didn't happen. And then the awesome company of Sweet Honey made it happen for me. They knew I had been waiting and trying to get the shirt for months Sheeeesh! Girls' clothes!!!! Boy mamas you are not missing out. Haha

I got E a necklace and two hair pretties from a mama on Facebook! This mama is awesome and makes beautiful things! I thought about making them but then realized how many projects I had already put on myself!

I decided on her yellow petals from Livie & Luca. These shoes are amazing!! For all my closet mamas you totally understand!

Last, I wanted to get a onesie for her smash cake. Although, I wanted something different. And believe it or not I did NOT want the applique/monogram onesie. HAHA! I found this adorable one on Etsy. It's sweet and simple.

So, there it is..... E's party attire!

Evan Lilly Turns 1! THE PARTY!!! Part 1: Invites

Deciding how to blog about E's party has almost been as stressful as the party!! HAHA I have gathered a ton of pictures, which there is no way to post all of them!!! So, I have selected my favorites and I am going to blog about the highlights of the party....starting from the beginning!

So here is my first party post: THE INVITES!!

I decided to go with a circus theme but wanted to make sure it was still girly! I chose the colors red, yellow, teal, and pink as a guide. I found these invites on Etsy and fell in love. I think it is so stinking cute that her name is even in the little flag!

Next, I wanted to do something FUN! I wanted the guests to open the invite and be excited to come celebrate with us. Instead of using the white envelopes that came with the invitations, I purchased some yellow ones at Office Max. I also, got a teal sharpie to address the invites and decided to hand write all the invitations with a silly print. I used a printed return address label and of course I stamped her monogram on the back of the envelope! 

Next was the project that took a lot longer than I expected, but I really enjoyed doing it. I LOVE receiving invites in the mail and I wanted this one to be extra special. I wanted our guests to open the envelope and see something different than just the invitation.

So, with the color scheme in mind I ordered some red and white striped bags off Etsy, purchased yellow and pink tickets from Party City, and twine and rhinestones from Hobby Lobby. I also printed off a cute little elephant from the internet to add in the color teal.

And here is the final product. This is what our guests saw after they opened the envelope!

Depending on the family size that's how many tickets I attached to the twine. I am not sure if anyone even noticed! But those are the little details that make me happy!

Evan Lilly Turns 1!!!!

Where did the time go?!?!? Evan turned 1 on March 21st. She is more fun now than I could have ever imagined!! I love her sassy yet serious personality. It still takes her a little time to warm up to a new environment. She looks around so serious and analyzes everything. After a little bit of time she is ready to go! She started walking at 11 months and is on the move. She loves to build and stack things. She also LOVES her bath toys. She is still in her little bath because the big girl bath is still a bit overwhelming to her. She can say dada, mama, and uh oh! Like her mama, the girl loves to eat AND like her mama she is not so sure about this whole milk idea! My baby is officially turning into a toddler! I put together her NB-12 month pictures for her birthday party and thought it would be fun to show them in order here. It is amazing how fast they grow and change in just one short year!

Evan did a great job! A pricked finger and 4 shots later deserved a trip to our favorite Mexican restaurant. Mama splurged and she got her first ever chicken nugget meal! She loved it :) In this pic she is chowing down on her favorite.... puffs and cheerios!

Road Trip!!!! Nashville HALF

Yet again I am falling behind on the blog.....so here we go again! I am going to make ANOTHER promise to myself to stay on top of it!! 

A few weeks ago my best friend, Lindsay's family and mine took a road trip to Nashville. Lindsay and I ran in the Grupton Jeep Tom King Classic Half Marathon. This marked my 6th half and this one was by far the hardest!!! A couple weeks earlier Lindsay and I ran 12 miles on a Saturday morning. Later that day I felt my knee start to hurt. For the next couple weeks I took it easy to prepare for the race. However, at mile 4 my knee stopped working. I felt like it was a mile behind me. However, Lindsay was the number one reason I kept going!!!! She was a huge motivator and helped me through the entire race! We ran the whole thing and it wasn't even my worst time. Little did we know that I had a stress fracture in my knee which I just found out last week. Unfortunately, my running has been put on hold for four more weeks and then I have to take it SUPER slow to get back to where I was. Although, my husband was pretty impressed when he found out so that's cool! 

So here we we are at the beginning of our trip. We went down early with the kiddos and the boys came later that night. Jack was so excited to be riding in "Kyle's Car!!!" 

We stayed at the Loew's Vanderbilt Hotel. It was an extremely nice hotel but when we got there we had a little difficulty with our rooms. We didn't mind..... we just found a little corner in the hotel bar for the kids to have snack and let the mommies relax after being in the car with the kiddos! ;-)

That night we went to a cute little pizza place and then to bed early to get a good night's rest before the race in the morning. Although, BOTH Jack and Evan had different plans for us that night. It was a long night :( But once I gathered my belongings I and drank almost a pot of coffee I was ready to go!

WE FINISHED!!! Our time was 2:19. I think we are both going to try for under 2 in the St. Jude. Surely, I'll have a healthy knee by then!

Now to the BEST part of the trip. Lindsay's parents have a place in Franklin and came to spend the day with us. They also volunteered to watch the kids that night so we could have some adult time! The day was definitely my favorite!!!! We went to 55 South in Franklin. If you have never been to Franklin I highly suggest you do!! It is such a cute little town with so much to see and do. 55 South was awesome!!! To celebrate the race being OVER we indulged in mimosas and bags of doughnuts!! I can't even describe how good these doughnuts were. Straight from the oven and just perfection.

After a day spent in Franklin we went back to to hotel to get ready for that evening. We ended up going to Whiskey Kitchen and had a great time!

The trip was a blast and I am on my way to recovery! I think we'll stick with some 5k's for the summer!
